Hawthorn High is currently providing remote learning opportunities and wellbeing support for all learners.
Pupil engagement with school and learning remains our priority.
- Encouraged your child to complete and submit work on their google classroom platform.
- Lessons are following the normal timetable of three sessions per day, and during this time our teachers are available in the session to provide feedback, answer questions and model responses.
- For Learners who are accessing work outside of the session time and require help, please email the class teacher and/or their progress lead and they will ensure appropriate support is put in place.

How is Remote Learning provided?
Google Classroom is being used by all teachers to support home learning. It is used to share assignments, homework, newsletters and much more with students and parents/carers.

Google classroom can now be accessed using your Xbox or PlayStation device. View instructions
How to take part in a scheduled video conferencing lesson?
Some online lessons may be delivered via Google Meet. View instructions on how to join a Google Meet on Computer, Chromebook, IPad or Phone
How to take part in a live lesson with a pre-recorded element?
Some online lessons are delivered through Google Classroom where a pre-recorded video will be uploaded by teaching staff. In these online lessons pupils will be able to use the chat function in Google Classroom to seek help from their teacher.

It is important to support your child’s remote learning routine for them to continue their learning journey. However, it is also important to note that this does not mean that you become the teacher.
