Harp International

A group of Year 12 students were invited to Harp International to see first-hand science in practice in the community.  Caroline Harries from Harp International gave the pupils an enlightening talk on the business and how the science Hawthorn pupils study in class is upgraded on an industrial scale at Harp.  The students were fortunate enough to visit a laboratory where they saw how liquid gases were tested when they arrived at the plant for recycling.

The school is very grateful for the link and sponsorship providing essential funds to enable our student to continue to carry out practical work with up to date equipment.  The partnership with Harp serves as an inspiration to our young scientists.

Hawthorn would like to thank Caroline Harries for giving up her time to guide our students through the processes at Harp International.

The Year 12 Students who visited Harp were: Georgia Butler, Gregor McKain, Carys Hale, Amiee  Morgan,  Lewis Thomas  and Huw Thomas.
